PA training center dedicated to healthcare born in Lombardy

A memorandum of understanding for the “Establishment and Management of the Territorial Training Center of the National School of Administration” (SNA) was signed in Milan, at Palazzo Pirelli, seat of the regional council.

The agreement was signed by the governor of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana with the Minister of Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo and with the president of the SNA, Paola Severino.

The objective is the establishment of a training center aimed at enhancing public administration and investing in staff skills, particularly transversal and technical-specialist ones, with an eye to public health issues.

Commenting on the initiative, the president of the Lombardy Region Fontana underlined the essentiality of a competent ruling class capable of managing challenges, especially in a strategic field such as healthcare.

Reiterating the importance of training personnel employed in the Public Administration, Minister Zangrillo argued that training is one of the main assets for change and “regeneration” of the administrative machine.

According to Professor Paola Severino, the topics covered in the training activities of the Lombard Center are central, also given the pressure suffered by the region during the health emergency.

Lombardy – underlines Severino – aims to be a point of reference on issues relating to public health management, especially at a time where the health, economic and social emergency has highlighted the need to develop new knowledge and skills in public administration, to in order to prevent and effectively deal with crisis situations.
