From the Cingolana youth teams to Ancona. The dream of three boys: to become footballers
Descriptive text here

“Our dream has always been and still is to become footballers, a dream that also involves sacrifices that we willingly make.” This is what Francesco Cocciarini and Enea Spadoni, students of 2nd B, say. They have always put all their effort into training and have managed to improve their technique, so a few months ago, their efforts were rewarded because Ancona offered them a trial, which they passed together with their lifelong friend, Niko Piccinini , also from Cingoli and the same age.

On August 21, 2023, they began training with Ancona. From the Cingolana they moved on to play in the Doric team: Enea as goalkeeper, Francesco as midfielder.

To the question “How did you react to the news?” both respond that they were excited and aware of having achieved a great goal. At the same time, however, they were a little sad at the idea of no longer playing with friends. And the parents? Even though they were very proud, at the beginning they were worried and hesitant, they were afraid that they wouldn’t be able to combine training and studying, but they understood that it was a good opportunity and that their job is also to support their children’s wishes.

Francesco tells us that it was difficult at the beginning, they were always afraid of making mistakes and disappointing the coach. Then he underlines how demanding it is to follow this dream because they train four times a week, plus they have the match on Sunday, they live far from Ancona and they have to travel a lot of kilometers for training. Reconciling all this with studying is not easy, but they try to do what they can, they are sure that one day all these sacrifices will be repaid.

Both Enea and Francesco are keen to underline how much they are followed by the team staff, not only from a technical point of view, but also for correct nutrition and conduct useful for personal growth, demanding values such as discipline, respect, commitment and sacrifice and, very importantly, helping them to acquire awareness of the importance of being able to combine study and sport. In short, the study should not be neglected.

When asked about the championship by the teacher, who knows nothing about football, they reply that they have to face teams from central Italy, such as Roma, Lazio, Perugia, Pescara, Pesaro, Ternana and Ascoli.

The games that left the greatest impression? The one against Ascoli, given that they won 7-1, but they also remember the one against Lazio because they conceded many goals.

Their eyes shone during this short interview, full of hope, and from this we understood that they will do everything to make their dream come true.
