4-1 home defeat for the Perugia Spring Of Giacomo Del Bene against the Cesena league leaders. Balanced first half where Perugia closes down the guests in their own half. Guest advantage with a restart that surprises the red and whites. A few minutes later Perugia responded by hitting the post with a shot from Lickunas from the edge of the area.
In the second half the two teams played on equal terms with Perugia managing the ball but Cesena managed to score two goals on the counterattack. Del Bene’s boys hit another woodwork and Cesena scored their fourth goal after a minute. Perugia tries to attack anyway and closes the gap on a penalty kick with Ronchi.
Regret for the final result considering the game played by Perugia even if Cesena confirmed themselves as the most dangerous team in the championship by capitalizing on every opportunity they had.
In the standings, Perugia remains at 34 points, eight points away from the last place in the playoffs with Palermo, Entella and Pisa leading the way. Cesena continues its solitary march at the top of the table with seven points ahead of Benevento.
