The province of Ferrara offers a wide range of proposals for cycle tourism enthusiasts. Itineraries and routes in the name of eco-sustainability to discover the Po river and its infinite wonders, including outdoor activities, culture and Renaissance treasures, a UNESCO world heritage site, evocative architecture, the ‘Delights’ of the Estensi and traces of a bygone era, small towns where time seems to have stopped.

Places of peace and harmony – in a landscape full of waterways, all connected to each other, wooded areas, uncontaminated countryside, in a perfect balance between wetlands and emerged lands – in the quiet of the Great River, to be explored in ‘slow’ mode ‘ pedaling on your bicycle or going up the river bed on a small boat. All this is possible thanks to the “Gli Anelli del Po. Bike&Boat” excursion program promoted by the Visit Ferrara consortium. There are four itineraries to discover, for a total of 172 km.

Straddling art and nature, the Renaissance Ring goes to discover the golden age of the Ferrara area, in an intermodal bike-boat tour that also crosses the territory of Portomaggiore. You can visit the Delizia del Belriguardo, defined as the Versailles of the Estensi, and the Delizia del Verginese, with splendid fine and decorated interiors and an enchanting garden. Departure by bicycle; having crossed the city center, you will exit the city along the ancient walls. After passing the Ferrara countryside, you will arrive in Voghiera. After the guided tour of the Delizia del Belriguardo, the first of the famous Este residences to be built outside the walls of Ferrara, the tour continues with a stop at the Delizia del Verginese. The “Ring of the Renaissance” itinerary will take place on Saturday 27 April, Sunday 26 May, Sunday 22 September and Sunday 20 October 2024.
