The sirocco storm arrives. Winds up to 130 km/h expected in Trapani and Palermo

Winds up to 130 km/h in Trapani and Palermo. A storm and heat wave is about to hit Sicily, with signs warnings that are already being felt on this day of Good Friday, March 29th. Temperatures, reaching almost 30 degrees centigrade, will be among the highest in Italy.

For Saturday 30 March, a sharp change in weather conditions is expected, with the arrival of intense bad weather that will affect the entire country. The sirocco wind will blow violently especially in the South, hitting Sicily from the early hours of the morning. The forecasts particularly warn the cities of Trapani and Palermo, where gusts could exceed 130 km/h, causing serious risks and damage. (Here is what happened a few days ago with the damage to Birgi airport, Marsala and Trapani).

And once again there is concern about the possibility of fires, there is in fact a medium risk for the provinces of Trapani, Agrigento, Palermo and Messina, launched by the Regional Civil Protection Department and concerns woods, urban parks and abandoned private land, during the passage of the storm. We hope that the necessary measures will be taken to prevent damage and ensure the safety of people and the environment while waiting for the storm to pass.
