The forecast does not bode well for the Easter weekend. For those who will not spend the holidays outdoors, here are the places of culture that will remain open to the public.
PALACE OF VENARIA
During the Easter holidays it is possible to visit the Palace, the Gardens and the extraordinary exhibition just inaugurated at the Sale delle Arti Capodimonte da Reggia a Museo. Five centuries of masterpieces from Masaccio to Andy Warhol with extended hours until 7.30pm. Numerous events from 30 March to 1 April 2024 with hours extended to 7.30pm. In addition to the dance moments and music and poetry shows, numerous other activities have been planned for adults and children such as the Origami Workshop. Paper cherry trees, a fairytale palace and a treasure hunt for families. Visitors can also play at the Fantacasino, a fairy-tale structure created for the entertainment of adults and children with its wooden games, machines and fun “animagics”. You can also visit the Mandria Park and the historic Royal Apartments of the Mandria Castle, the “love nest” of King Vittorio Emanuele II and the “Bela Rosin”, which can be reached by renting a bike at the Patio dei Giardini and walking along Viale Carlo Emanuele II: bicycles for adults, children and bicycles with child seats are available.
EGYPTIAN MUSEUM
The Egyptian Museum remains open on public holidays with extended hours, from 9am to 8pm.
ROYAL MUSEUMS AND ROYAL LIBRARY
The Royal Museums will remain open for the Easter weekend from 9am to 7pm. Also back in the Royal Library, Face to Face with Leonardo, where you can admire the famous Self-Portrait and other drawings by the genius of Vinci. At Palazzo Chiablese, I will also be able to visit the Guercino exhibition. The painter’s profession and the Royal Gardens.
ROOM
The Camera Center remains open on public holidays from 11am to 7pm with three exhibitions dedicated to some of its greatest masters: Robert Capa and Gerda Taro: photography, love, war, Ugo Mulas / Saul’s graffiti Steinberg in Milan and Michele Pellegrino. Photographs 1967-2023.
CINEMA’S MUSEUM
On the occasion of the Easter holidays, the National Cinema Museum is organizing a series of extended and extraordinary openings to offer its visitors further entry options. The Museum will therefore observe the following opening hours: Saturday 23rd, Sunday 24th, Friday 29th, Saturday 30th, Sunday 31st March, Friday 5th, Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th April 9am-11pm (last entry at 10pm); Thursday 28 March, Monday 1, Tuesday 2, Wednesday 3, Thursday 4 April 9am-9pm (last entry 8pm). There are also guided tours for the public, guided tours of the dome of the Mole Antonelliana and the Easter Magic children’s workshop (1 April, 5pm).
MAUTO
The Mauto will be open on the Easter weekend from 10am to 7pm, while it will have an extraordinary opening on Easter Monday with the same time (last entry 1 hour before closing). MOSTIO OF THE CITADEL
The exhibition The Macchiaioli and plein air painting between France and Italy at the Mastio della Cittadella will also be open on Easter day, Sunday 31 March and on Monday in Albis, 1 April. The exhibition will observe continuous opening hours on public holidays with access from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm. The exhibition will close after the holidays and will leave room, from April 20, for the exhibition dedicated to Henri Toulouse-Lautrec.
MOUNTAIN MUSEUM
The Mountain Museum will be closed at Easter while on Easter Monday it will be open from 10.30am to 6pm. In addition to visiting the new section dedicated to the Italian climbing of K2, it will also be possible to visit the temporary Primo Levi exhibitions. The bones of the Earth, Michael Höpfner and Magda Drodz – Stay with me, Fabio Roncato Momentum.
MADAMA PALACE, GAM, MAO
During the Easter holidays the GAM, the MAO and Palazzo Madama will always be open. You can visit the permanent exhibitions and collections taking advantage of the extraordinary openings on Easter Monday. The guided tour of the Art Nouveau house: furnishings, objects and interior design will take place at Palazzo Madama on Friday 29 March at 4pm. Opening hours of all three museums: 10am to 6pm (ticket offices close at 5pm).
