PISA. Pisa will be able to count on a very important additional weapon in the match against Palermo on Monday 1 April (start at 3pm): the warmth of the beating heart of their support. As expected, in fact, the Curva Nord groups interrupted the protest and announced their return to the stands of the Arena Garibaldi-Anconetani with a statement released on the morning of Friday 29 March. Here is the text.

«Consistent with what was written at the time regarding a possible increase in capacity of the popular sector, we announce our decision to return to the Curva Nord starting from the match on Monday 1 April against Palermo. Staying out was a strong, difficult, but at the same time, obligatory position for us. We have expressed ourselves several times regarding the reasons behind our choice: from the repression of the last Sundays with the hunt for the “Portuguese”, to the penalization of those who had a valid entry permit with them, to the impossibility for the children to follow the lot from the popular sector (for a certain age group it is not easy to manage the expense of a season ticket especially when times are short because most of them fly away in pre-emption). However, we believe it was worth it. The 500 additional tickets, the result of some work objectively carried out in record time, were sold out within a few hours: it is proof that the capacity of the popular sector is not adequate for the request (and we are in a season where the team does not is fighting for the very top positions). We finally spoke about all this also with the club, following the famous press conference; it was a 360°, “clarifying” and constructive meeting. Even there we explained that our “fight” will certainly not stop with the addition of 500 places. This should only be a first step. We all know that to make the capacity suitable again, the obstacle of the approval reduced to 10,000 seats must be overcome (a disastrous choice in retrospect, inherited from an old management). We all know that the increase in the Curva sector was only possible “thanks” to the unavailability of 500 seats in the stands (due to renovation works). This is why, temporarily, we are satisfied with these numbers. But we invite the parties to get to work immediately, in a concrete, effective and discreet way, so that from next season we can have a stadium suitable for the needs of the square. As for the fans who have invited us to come in several times in recent weeks “because the team needs it”, we would like to explain to them that, for us, this was a way to do well for Pisa. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices and then rejoice, be somewhat far-sighted: today’s Pisa is just as important as tomorrow’s. And some principles, especially due to our mentality, we could not ignore. In any case, we remember that in this period, in our way, we have always been close to the team, both away (even in the most distant ones such as Cosenza, where the majority of those present are usually part of the ultras groups), and putting up encouraging banners at the training pitches, or showing up on the way and accompanying the team bus to the stadium. All this always in our way. Those who asked us to enter, with all due respect, did so with the ticket in hand and the possibility of watching the match in peace. This time too, we preferred to embrace the cause of the many who did not have this possibility. This new “restart”, as mentioned, is also intended to be an invitation to all parties involved to put past disagreements aside. The championship is coming to an end and we must use this period of serenity to unite all the components on a single objective, the good of Pisa and Pisa SC. First of all, we must save the category. We will see. Surely, everyone will be needed and for this reason we invite the Nerazzurri fans to rally around the team, to bring with them any type of Nerazzurri banner to color the Curva and the entire stadium, and to let all the passion explode in the Arena and typhus repressed in recent months.”
