Kia EV9 was named World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle, during the World Car Awards ceremony at the Motor Show. New York cars. Selected by a jury of 100 distinguished automotive journalists representing 29 countries, the World Car Awards recognized the Kia EV9’s innovative design, spacious seven-seat interior and competitive price. Based on the E-GMP platform, EV9 is the first Kia to feature fourth-generation battery technology for segment-leading performance. “We are honored that the 2024 EV9 has been named World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle. Two wins at the World Car Awards add to an already impressive list of accolades for the 2024 Kia EV9. Since being introduced as Kia’s first three-row EV SUV, the EV9 has racked up a slew of awards, including win in the “Family Cars” category of the Golden Steering Wheel Awards, the 2024 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year and the title of “Best Premium SUV” at the 2023 Newsweek Autos Awards.
