New meeting in Rome between Danilo Iervolino and Maurizio Milan. The club’s relaunch project, after Salernitana’s relegation to Serie B, must be filled with content. And maybe even names. The first to circulate, from Angelozzi to Sogliano, go in a specific direction although for now they are simple suggestions. The new market operator of the Granata club, who will have to choose the coach to whom he will entrust the leadership of the team, will have a clear mission: to sell (well) as the Verona director did in January, the valuable pieces; establish relationships (as the Frosinone manager has demonstrated his ability to do) to set up the team with valuable players, not necessarily with big names.
Salernitana, which recapitalized in March by covering part of its losses, will be able to count on the parachute (which belongs to the relegated clubs) and will have to create a “treasure” through the transfers of its best players. We are looking for buyers, interested in investing large sums of money, for the various Tchaouna, Coulibaly, Bradaric, Pirola, Dia (the hearing at the Arbitration Board is scheduled for tomorrow, where a battle is expected), trusting in the redemptions of the elements (from Daniliuc to Lovato) from the clubs where they currently play on loan.
Inevitably the wage bill will have to be lightened: in Serie B TV rights and sponsorships have a much smaller impact than in the top flight and certain salaries (from Candreva to Fazio, from Bonazzoli to Sepe, passing through Maggiore, Simy and Sambia) are no longer affordable. It is easy to imagine, therefore, a real summer revolution, which will have to open the doors to the new corporate policy, which will have to reconcile the need to make the project self-sustainable (from a financial point of view) and at the same time ambitious, competitive, up to the market’s expectations (from a technical point of view).
