Important meetings with authors and leading names on the current scene are scheduled. Spring arrives at the Vecchie Segherie Mastrotaro di Bisceglie with a wind of beautiful literary news and many interesting evenings dedicated to in-depth analysis, meetings with authors, shows and current events with exceptional guests.

We start in style on April 3rd at 7pm with Andrea Piva and “The Eternal Girl” (Bompiani), a book nominated for the Strega Prize by Nicola Lagioia. Bianca Peloso and Mauro D’Alonzo moderate. On Friday 5 April at 6.30 pm, the winner of the 2023 Campiello Prize Benedetta Tobagi presents “The resistance of women” (Einaudi) at the Mastrototaro Segherie, in dialogue with Antonella Morga. Guest of the evening was Sen. Francesco Boccia. The meeting is organized in collaboration with Anpi Bat and Libreria Punto Einaudi of Barletta.

On April 10th at 7pm it is the turn of Marco Ferrante, author of “Ritorno in Puglia” (Bompiani), moderated by Ida Vinella and in collaboration with the Fiori Blu association.
Friday 12 April at 7pm we continue with Stefano Reali who talks about his “Shakespeare AEnigma. The first incarnation of John Florio” (Florestan editions) through the readings interpreted by Nunzia Antonino and Pietro Naglieri.

Sunday 14 April at 7pm, an appointment for all the most passionate people with the literary salon organized by the publisher Another Coffee Stories and 7 of their authors. Enlivening the April calendar of the Segherie are two more moments that will offer the public of Bisceglie a fascinating journey between distant worlds and cultures, together with eclectic authors.
On April 18th at 7pm the protagonist will be Paolo Nori, the greatest translator of Russian literature into Italian, to present “A night at the Russian museum” (Laterza), moderated by Donatella di Leo in collaboration with the Circolo dei Lettori.

“Brief history of Japan” (Newton Compton) is the book that Antonio Moscatello will present on Saturday 20 April at 7 pm, moderated by Nico Conversano in collaboration with the L’altro Japan association. Closing the events is the meeting scheduled for April 30th as part of the Old Sawmills Reading Group organized by Ilenia Caito, who chooses as book of the month “The Silver Saints”, the debut of the young Neapolitan bookseller Giancarlo Piacci in the world of Italian noir. The author will be
first at 11am at IISS. Galileo Ferraris of Molfetta to meet the kids from the Ferraris readers’ club and then at 7 pm in the bookshop for the choral presentation by the Trucioli GdL.
