Pesaro, 28 March 2024 – The parish priest asks forauthorization to bless the school but the principal tells him no. This is what happened yesterdaystate comprehensive institute of Mercatino Conca where the head teacher of the “Raffaello Sanzio” Flavius Bosio would not have authorized the parish priests of the municipalities of Mercatino Conca, Monte Grimano Terme and Monte Cerignone to bring the Easter blessing in the name of defending the secularity of the institute.
Mayor Elia Rossi wasted no time trying to take action by notifying the regional coordinator of Forza Italia Francesco Battistoni who presented a urgent question to Minister Valditara.
“Despite the efforts made by the mayors to find a meeting point between the different needs – comments the blue deputy in a note -, this choice leaves us stunned, if not downright indignant because it introduces a double track of secularism and respect for rights providing greater ones for some and smaller ones for others. Minister Valditara is asked if what happened in the Marche is in line with ours constitutional principles, if a correct dialogue between students and religions is promoted canceling our traditions in favor of others, and whether effective integration between peoples lies in the cancellation of identity symbols and cultures or, instead, whether promoting ideological and humiliating actions of this type does not mean denying ourselves and our values, canceling them”.
The principal, contacted by phone, did not want to comment on the matter and cut short: “Nothing happened”, and then closed the conversation.
