PISA – Over 300 judokas from different parts of Italy participate in the “Judo Excellence” stage which is held at “Sergio Carlesi” Sports Hall in Pisa. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Pisa and running from 27 March to 30 Marchboasts a 800 square meter tatami.
The lessons are led by two former international level athletes: Flavio CantoOlympic bronze medalist and multiple Pan American Championships medalist, e Jenny GalOlympic bronze medalist and world vice champion.
The sports councilor of the Municipality of Pisa, Frida Scarpa, highlighted the technical prestige of the eventwhich relies on participation of the Italian Junior National Teamfrom the Yellow Flames and of other high-level national and international athletes.
The internship is held at renovated Barbaricina Sports Hallthe subject of significant redevelopment works by the municipal administration. These interventions have returned the facility to its full functionality and capacity to host over 1200 spectators. With around 500 people involved, between athletes, staff and companions, the event represents a important stimulus for the local economy thanks to the influx of visitors and the use of the Municipality’s accommodation facilities.
The stage “Judo Excellence” is organized by Fabio Barni And Giorgio Vismarawith the patronage of the Municipality of Pisa.
