MATERA – The public assessment meeting regarding the request for recognition of the Fragola della Basilicata denomination as a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) will be held on 9 April 2024 (at 5pm) at the Basilicata Chamber of Commerce, Matera headquarters.

“The invitation to the meeting of the Basilicata PGI Strawberry Promotion Committee is extended to all representatives of the municipalities of the area involved, the producers, organizations and interested actors”, explains Salvatore Pecchia.
“Strawberry growing in Basilicata – he continues – represents a solid opportunity from an economic and social point of view as well as contributing to the characterization of the identity traits of the region, increasing its cultural, gastronomic and attractive heritage”.
“As specified in the ministerial document, the meeting will be conducted by two Masaf officials. It is the duty of the Ministry officials to ensure the regular convening of the meeting and to read the production specifications” concludes Pecchia.
