Biman Bangladesh Airlines inaugurates the direct flight Rome Fiumicino – Dhaka

The inaugural ceremony took place yesterday morning with the ribbon cutting of the airline Biman Bangladesh Airlines of the flight Rome Fiumicino – Dhaka at the airport Rome Fiumicino.

Present at the ceremony: Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer ADR, Shafiul Azim, Managing Director & CEO of Biman, Md. Mokammel Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Md. Monirul Islam, Ambassador of Bangladesh in Italy, Mostafa Kamal Uddin, Chairman, Biman Board of Directors, Sajjadul Hassan, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee and Francesco Veneziano, Vice President Commercial of Distal GSA Italia.

Shafiul Azim, Managing Director & CEO of Biman states: “It’s not just a new flight; we are opening a door that connects not only two cities but also millions of hearts and dreams. The new Dhaka-Rome-Dhaka route will play a fundamental role in promoting relations between the two friendly nations. These flights will facilitate the expansion of commercial, cultural and institutional exchanges between the two countries as well as increasing scientific and technological cooperation.”

“After nine years of absence of BIMAN Bangladesh Airlines flights to Rome, from 27 March 2024 direct flights from Rome FCO to Dhaka will return three times a week.
