PESCARA. “The process that intends to make Abruzzo a hydrogen hub has finally reached the crucial phase: today the protagonists were not the public bodies, or the conferences, but rather many companies that are interested in the production chain of an energy vector that represents the future, and a leading sector in terms of technological innovation, in the context of the ecological transition”.
This is what Giuseppe Savini, president of the regional company for productive activities (Arap), said.implementing body of the Abruzzo Region for the hydrogen supply chain, at the end of the operational meeting in Spoltore (Pescara), in which around sixty Abruzzo companies participated, in an event organized together with DII Desert Energy, of which Arap is a member, international network composed of over 50 companies and organizations from 25 countries, with a staff of international experts in the energy, infrastructure, financial and public policy sectors.
The objective is now to close the circle of the path started by Arap in 2022, as part of the 2022 Dubai Expo, which was followed by other international initiatives and agreements, to make Abruzzo a hydrogen Valley , for the production of the green carrier obtained from the hydrolysis of water, but also for the production of the technology necessary for the entire supply chain.
Among those present were also the outgoing Energy councillors, Nicola Campitelli and production activities, Daniele D’Amarioboth reconfirmed as regional councilors in the elections of 10 March.
“The agreement signed with DII Desert Energy, which is the world’s largest renewables incubator, was particularly far-sighted – added Savini -, and from which it will now be possible to draw on the know-how and technologies useful to our companies in order to implement projects along the entire production chain. It was exactly what we had set ourselves when we started this journey two years ago, and it was not at all obvious.”
On the same wavelength Cornelius Matthes, CEO of DII Desert Energy, “today’s meeting represents a decisive step towards reaching the full operational phase. It is no coincidence that, after last year’s international conference at Aurum, we returned here to Pescara with the entire management of Dii Desert Energy, confirming how strategic the partnership with Arap is for us, which has already made it possible to win an important tender from the Pnrr, and in general the industrial fabric of Abruzzo, which includes authentic excellences that can be protagonists in the development of hydrogen production and technology”.
They were also satisfied entrepreneurs present, representing the best of the regional companies operating in the sector.
“Today, thanks to Arap’s invitation, we had the opportunity to have updates on the role that hydrogen can have for territorial growth – says Bora Aydin, business development manager of Walter Tosto -, and we are confident that numerous projects will be carried forward innovative, to the benefit of the growth of companies and also to give opportunities to new generations”.
On the same wavelength, Marco Monaco founding member and sales director of Aumatech, for whom, “for companies this event was an important moment of discussion and knowledge. I believe that it is important to focus on this important energy vector, we hope it can be used as soon as possible as an alternative to use of fossil fuels. An extremely strategic sector also for our company which offers storage technologies on board vehicles, and also for transport”.
Again for Arap, the internationalization manager comments Romeo Ciammaichella: “Today they simply put the Abruzzo hydrogen supply chain on the ground, with a fruitful dialogue with DII, which greatly appreciated the quality of Abruzzo manufacturing companies. We are finally starting to produce value, thanks to Arap’s role as a catalyst.”
Arap general director Antonio Morgante comments: “Today we consolidate relationships created in these two years, confirming that the international DII container represents a great opportunity for Abruzzo and its entrepreneurship which intends to bet in a strategic sector such as the hydrogen economy”.
