Calabria sold off, from the port of Gioia Tauro to healthcare. We need a turning point

Creating an online newspaper is an enriching educational experience from many points of view, above all as an opportunity to help our Region grow in various aspects. La Novità online has a very specific objective, to tell the truth without conforming to the dominant thought in our Calabria. The new online newspaper was not created against anyone, no one is motivated by revenge against anyone. We have the will to unite. The very choice to create a network goes in the direction of uniting and not dividing. Doors open to all, without exclusions. Calabria needs unity rather than divisions!
However, we cannot remain silent about the gravity of the economic and social crisis that is gripping our land. We must clearly say the negative things that afflict our territory.
Starting with healthcare, a true social plague, where billions are spent to have third world healthcare. There are positive niches for the commitment of doctors and paramedics who make enormous sacrifices to run their departments. But let’s say it clearly, those who work find themselves fighting with a certain political class committed to promoting friends and cronies for electoral purposes. A shame! We must say without pretense that continuing in this direction we cannot go forward for a long time. Healthcare is 70% of public GDP. Then we have the private GDP in the hands of the port of Gioia Tauro. We want to be frank… the port of Gioia Tauro is being held back… for a part of the political class we must remain anchored to transhipment. Ports around the world stand out if integrated logistics are activated in addition to transshipment. Free zone with type C customs warehouse means keeping the containers in Gioia Tauro. Then open the containers and start the logistics. In Holland they succeeded, becoming a global economic model. On average, over 3 million teus arrive in Gioia Tauro every year. 98% go away with a model called T1. To be clear, containers arriving from countries outside the European Community go away in community transit. in short, they are disembarked with the mother ship and then the feeder ship or the wheeled vehicle or trains arrive and then clear customs in the ports or interports of the centre-north, with the payment of duty and VAT in those regions.
Calabria loses over 3 billion euros a year due to this system of subordination. President Occhiuto had heartened us last summer in Cosenza, at the conference of the political movement of the former regional councilor Orlandino Greco, the governor had been clear, we must make Gioia Tauro pay duties and VAT, quantifying the figure at 3.4 billion of euros per year. Then silence! This is the truth. The Calabrians must know what kind of political class we have. Everything can be reversed… but it takes the will and courage to be independent from all points of view. That’s enough homologation, independence and autonomy require a peaceful revolution.
We must be angry with Rome. In 14 years it has stripped us of almost 8 billion euros in healthcare which came out of the pockets of Calabrians to replenish the centre-north. You calculate the billions that Calabria gives to the centre-north for logistics. A mountain of money. Now the time has come to say enough. The “Online News” will tell the truth without looking anyone in the face. The Calabrians deserve respect at all levels. Many use us to build their own personal backyard… at all levels, a combination that sees politicians, magistrates and unscrupulous entrepreneurs etc. in the same boat… when do we raise our heads again?
