With fourth place still in the sights, an exceptional result has been achieved for the revelation of the tournament
Thanks to the simultaneous draw of Brescia and Samp, Catanzaro is already sure of playing the preliminary round of the play offs at home! Which means the further advantage of being able to count on a win or draw to reach the semi-final. An incredible result, exceptional for a newly promoted team, an authentic revelation of the tournament (in terms of quality of play and results) also because it was built with one of the lowest budgets in the category. But it doesn’t end here. Fourth place is three points away, with Cremonese in an oxygen deficit, even if the calendar offers the Eagles another top clash, next Wednesday, with the revived Venezia, in the chase for second place which smacks of direct promotion. Sunday 5th May the away game to Terni, with the Umbrians in full battle for salvation, and then the end of the regular season at home with Sampdoria clinging to the fight for a place in the sun.
Meanwhile, at least sure of the preliminary round at Ceravolo, the fans can already circle in red on the calendar the date of Saturday 17 May if Vivarini’s boys finish fifth (at this moment they would face Sampdoria) or that of Friday 16 in the event of a sixth place finish (opponent, at present, Brescia).
