ANCONA Stages set up in the heart of the historic centres, DJ sets until late at night and big names in Italian music called to lead the countdown. In the Marche, New Year’s Eve has once again become, first of all, a night to be experienced in the square. Francesca Michielin, Bianca Atzei, Zero Assoluto and, the day after, Orietta Berti: from Pesaro to Ascoli, the budget is close to half a million.
The capital
In the Ancona capital the scene is all in Piazza Cavour, designed as a large open-air arena. The lineup is written to leave no gaps: first the DJ set by Elion Dj, then the concert by Francesca Michielin, called to lead the countdown, and finally the night that continues with Nicola Pigini on the console. A sequence without pauses, built to keep the square full until late, with an investment of around 153 thousand euros. Going down the coast, San Benedetto del Tronto chooses another face of Italian pop. In Piazza Giorgini, from 10.30pm, the protagonist is Bianca Atzei. After the toast, the party continues with a DJ set by Radio Italia, accompanied by local DJs. Cost: 80 thousand euros.
The bet
Then there are those who are aiming for a return to the square after years of absence. This is the case of Civitanova, which lights up Piazza XX Settembre from 10pm with the party band Punti di Vista: transversal repertoire, dancers, plays of light and a giant bubble machine. A spectacular party, yes, but low in cost: 15 thousand euros. Macerata also operates with the same budget, choosing a popular and compact formula: Piazza della Libertà becomes an open-air disco with Multiradio, music and entertainment until after midnight. The story extends beyond the night of December 31st with the arrival on the scene of Orietta Berti. On the evening of New Year’s Eve, in Senigallia, the countdown starts in Piazza Garibaldi at 11pm with the cover band Secondo Tempo, followed after midnight by the music of Vita Italia Dance; the next day the stage is all for the Emilian singer. The overall package for the two evenings is 60,439 euros. Who transforms New Year’s Eve into a large dance floor is Pesaro, where Piazza del Popolo lights up from the Biosphere stage: from 10.30pm Remember Disco Dance goes on stage, with Monika Kiss on the console, flanked by Andrea Falcetelli and the dancers, for a continuous show built on the great hits of disco dance. The investment here is 17 thousand euros. In Fano, however, the focus is on young people, with the concert by the promising 19-year-old of Italian music Asia Antonietti, known for her lyrics with a high social value.
The marathon
The last day of the most sung year seems to be that of Zero Assoluto. In Piazza del Popolo, in Ascoli, the Roman duo goes on stage at 11pm, accompanies the audience until the toast and returns to perform until 1am, then leaving room for the DJ set until 2am. A free and compact party, with a cost of 50 thousand euros. Closing the picture, with a bill of 21 thousand euros, is Fermo, where Piazza del Popolo becomes the heart of “New Year Fermo”: Stefano Castori, DJ Mario Mazzaferro & Mr Zak alternate at the console, until the grand finale entrusted to Samuel of Subsonica, protagonist of a special DJ set that accompanies the city towards the new year. When the countdown starts, the numbers will remain in the background. It will then be the squares that will truly tell what New Year’s Eve was.
