Chapter 1076: Old Friends
In the Color Spread, the Mugiwara crew wear modern clothes. It is similar to the cover of chapter 916
The chapter begins where the last one left off. Zoro hears Nami’s screams in the distance, so he says that they need to protect all Punks as well as their comrades.
In this chapter we only see Luffy and Zoro’s group.
Zoro and Luffy decide to finish the fight quickly, so it’s not the case that they continue to protect Lucci and Kaku.
Kaku to Luffy: “If we can beat them together, I’ll let you handcuff me again.”
Luffy: Oh, really? Well then, shishishi!!”
Luffy to Lucci: “After this match, you won’t blame my teammates or Vegapunk just because you can’t beat me, right?”
Lucci: «That’s fine with me… also because it’s you I want to kill first! And after you die, your comrades will die as well.”
Shaka gives Luffy the keys to the handcuffs.
Shaka: «You are free to do what you want, the important thing is that you ensure Stella’s safety»
Luffy frees Lucci and Kaku, although Zoro doesn’t trust them.
Luffy and Lucci vs S-Bear. Zoro and Kaku vs S-Hawk.
Luffy uses the Gear Fourth, Lucci his hybrid form (not the awakened one. Kaku does not transform.
S-Hawk has the Supa Supa no mi, the power that belongs to Mr. 1.
In a beautiful double page, Luffy/Lucci and Zoro/Kaku use a combined attack against the two Seraphim.
Luffy: «Gomu Gomu no Kong Gun!»
Lucci: «Roku Ou Gan!»
Zoro: «Rengoku Oni Giri!»
Kaku: «Rankyaku: Hakurai!»
Both Seraphim are blown out of the lab.
The scene cuts to the real Vegapunk, who wakes up in a secret laboratory prison. Vegapunk has become old again, he is wounded and in chains.
With Vegapunk are some CP agents, who had arrived on the island weeks or months before.
Vegapunk wonders how he ended up in prison and also says that it is very suspicious that his research on Poneglyphs has been reported to the World Government.
Outside Egghead, there are some communications between different Navy bases informing us that more than 100 ships are approaching the island.
The scene shifts to Elbaf, in a bar near the coast.
Shanks and his crew are drinking in the bar.
A giant child asks Shanks if he can take him across the sea with him, but Red refuses (as he did with Luffy in chapter 1).
The girl from the bar tells the boy not to insist.
Ships from Shanks’ fleet are in the vicinity of the island and inform their captain that the Kid’s Pirates are approaching.
Benn Beckman: «Our enemy must be angry»
Lucky Roux: «Look who’s talking… who do you think they’re mad at?!»
Shanks: «I think I spent too much time talking… But I couldn’t help it, I just met some old friends who I thought were dead!!»
Shanks gets up and continues speaking: «I don’t want to cause too much damage to this place. Dory, Brogy… will you help me?».
In a beautiful double page, we see the Red Pirates drinking with Brogy, Dory, Karsee and Oimoo and other giants. We see that everyone appreciates Shanks.”
Dory and Brogy: «Of course, brother! We are ready to fight for you!»
Shanks walks into battle with Brogy and Dory. Shanks tells Rockstar to talk to the Kid before the fight begins.
Shanks: «Rockstar, go tell the Kid that if he wants we can face each other immediately! Or… he can leave us his Road Poneglyphs and go away!»
Kid’s ship is battling some Red Pirate ships. Killer talks to Kid.
Killer: «Kid, during the last fight, you weren’t even able to get face to face with Shanks!! You could lose more than one arm this time…”
Kid: «We will only worry about these things if we really lose»
The chapter ends with Shanks heading to the coast and all the other captains cheering him on…
One Piece is a manga series written and illustrated by Eiichirō Oda, serialized in the Japanese magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump by Shūeisha since July 19, 1997. The publishing house periodically collects the chapters also in tankōbon format volumes, the first of which was published on December 24 . The Italian edition is edited by Star Comics, which began its publication in books corresponding to the Japanese volumes on July 1, 2001.
The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body has taken on the properties of rubber after inadvertently ingesting the devil fruit Gomu Gomu. Gathering a crew around him, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the legendary One Piece treasure and pursuing the dream of becoming the new Pirate King
One Piece is adapted into an anime television series, produced by Toei Animation and broadcast in Japan on Fuji TV from October 20, 1999. The Italian edition is published by Merak Film and aired on Italia 1 from November 5, 2001 and then continued on Italia 2 in 2012; initially titled Boarding!, the series has had several name changes over the seasons, until settling on the original One Piece.
Toei Animation has also produced 11 television specials, 13 anime films, two 3D short films, an ONA and an OVA. Various companies have made various kinds of merchandise from it, such as soundtracks, video games and toys.
One Piece has enjoyed tremendous success. Several volumes of the manga have broken sales and initial circulation records in Japan. With three hundred million copies in circulation as of 2014, the work is the manga to have sold the most in the world. On June 15, 2015 it also entered the Guinness Book of Records as a comic series drawn by a single author with the highest number of copies published: over 320 million.
