Lucio Dalla’s houses on the Tremiti islands for sale: here’s how much they cost

Lucio Dalla’s houses on the Tremiti Islands, in Puglia, are for sale. On the website of the Guidobaldi Luxury Properties agency there are details of the two properties on the Adriatic owned by the Bolognese singer-songwriter and which inspired many of his songs, the most famous being ‘Com’è profound il mare’. There are two houses for sale and they are divided between the island of San Domino and the island of San Nicola.

The two houses on the Tremiti islands: the villa in San Domino

The villa on the island of San Domino is the larger of the two properties. It is a house surrounded by greenery of 290 square meters that is spread over three floors and also has a terrace with a spectacular view of the sea. The cost is 1 million and 300 thousand euros.

As stated in the presentation sheet on the real estate agency’s website: “It is located in the suggestive inlet of Cala Matano, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Tremiti, in one of the most scenically appreciated scenarios on the island”. The villa, we always read in the description, also has a recording room inside where the singer-songwriter created the album “Luna Matana”. Among the peculiarities of the villa is the fact that it is located in via Domenico Sputo, one of Lucio Dalla’s best-known alter egos. The Bolognese singer-songwriter had also posted a plaque in front of the entrance explaining that he was a pilot from the Second World War, and the street still retains that name today.

The loft on the island of San Nicola

The second property, however, is smaller and is located on the island of San Nicola. It is an open space apartment with sea view of 80 square meters and is located inside the abbey/fortress of Santa Maria a Mare, built around 1200.

The selling price of the property is 350 thousand euros.

It was the famous architect Vittorio Camerini who renovated the villa which, as stated on the agency’s website, became “a source of inspiration for its former owner and international artist Lucio Dalla, who chose it precisely for its uniqueness”. For both properties the agency has chosen to create evocative videos, real virtual tours of all the rooms of Dalla’s homes, with the songs ‘Stella di mare’ and ‘Com’èdeep il mare’ playing in the background.

The idea of creating a museum fades away

So goodbye to the idea of creating a museum of these evocative places that inspired the Bolognese singer-songwriter.

“With the sale, the dream of creating a museum in the house of San Nicola to remember the artist and his Diomedean fable crumbles”, we read in a post on Facebook on the “Tremiti Islands Marine Reserve” page which gives voice to those who hope that there is still time to avoid the sale of Dalla’s houses.

For many Tremitani, in fact, the sale would be equivalent to severing the deep bond between the singer-songwriter and his islands of the heart. For this reason, in the past, the museum hypothesis had been considered.
