Casole d’Elsa (Siena), 21 June 2024 – A Casole d’Elsa the first edition of the Festival of The Sun edited by Rick Rubin. And the photos of the first guests are already very popular on social media, despite the fact that secrecy had been requested regarding the names of the artists present. The two-day event will be held today, June 21st and tomorrow, June 22nd. It has been described as “a real secret festival”, it includes music, art and culture marked by the rhythm of nature to “celebrate creativity in all its forms”. However, photos of the artists are going crazy on Facebook and Instagram. In fact, it was also spotted on the streets of Casolo Jovanotti (who then performed in concert in the evening) beyond to Madame, Riccardo Scamarcio with Benedetta Porcaroli, GianMaria, James Blake, Fiammetta Cicogna and Dario Mangiaracina, guitarist of the band “The list representative”. And not only that, because on the stage set up in Piazza della Libertà under the bell tower of the Collegiate church stands a battery with the writing “Gossip”: musical group whose voice is Beth Ditto, the last album recorded with the production of Rick Rubin. Other international superstars spotted: the Arcade Fire.
At the moment, a detailed calendar is not yet known: a press note informs that the programme, guests and details of the event will only be communicated through the Festival’s official social channels and on the website. However, it is known that all appointments will have free admission while places last.
Rick Rubin is a famous American record producer. He has won 10 Grammy Awards, producing world-famous artists, starting from Johnny Cash, passing through System of a Down, Shakira and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Defined by major music critics as the King Midas of musical productions. Also producer of one of the most popular Italian artists, Jovanotti. Lorenzo Cherubini himself advised him in 2019 to make a purchase in Valdelsa. The producer of the stars, Rubin, in fact bought one years ago farm in Casole d’Elsa. A good 5,500 square meters in the hills, where he had announced the inauguration of a recording studio and a school for talents.
“The word ‘solstice’, from the Latin ‘solstitium’, means ‘still sun'”, we read when entering the Festival website: “An apparent pause of the sun at its highest point before moving south again. The astronomical summer begins with the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. This day is associated with change, nature and new beginnings. Ancient Greek calendars mark the beginning of the new year with the solstice.”
It should be noted that Castello di Casole is also among the official partners, while Ray-Ban and Enel are among the sponsors. Valdelsa once again becomes the center of the world with internationally renowned artists who meet on the Casole hill to experience this sultry day, but with lots of good music.
