Clerici underwent emergency surgery. “A tsunami, I’m fine”

In the hospital bed. Without makeup. With a swollen and tired face. That of an ordinary woman who has just come out of an operating room. This is Antonella Clerici who, after a few minutes of having her ovaries removed, posted a photo of herself after the emergency surgery. And she certainly doesn’t do it for one more minute of fame or to make her millions of fans happy, she does it because she knows well how her example is disruptive and important. “As always, I want to be honest with you,” she writes, “and tell you what happened to me so that this can remind everyone of the importance of prevention.” The presenter had to have a check-up for an ovarian cyst, the results are clear, the ovaries need to be removed immediately. You don’t write it but it is clear that it is an evolving benign pathology.

«Last Thursday – he says in the post – I arrived in Rome with the idea of staying close to a friend and going to Naples to the Gigi D’Alessio concert. My gynecologist reminds me that I need to check for an ovarian cyst. A tsunami starts from there. MRI, hospitalization, operation. Hello ovaries.”

In a few days she was admitted to the Regina Elena National Cancer Institute in Rome and the operation was successful. And she, after the great scare, thinks of her women, of those fans who follow her on Raiuno every day while they cook on È semper midday. She’s like this: a spade as a spade, with a little mortadella possibly, wine as wine. She loves sequins, colorful clothes, makeup and wigs but her viewers have been following her for decades because beneath her glitter there is a friend of hers, one of the family who enters homes at lunchtime everyday.

And, therefore, it is perhaps true that non-famous women – or not all of them – perhaps do not happen to be operated on in a short time, as some people have written – in a slightly nasty way – under your post, but this one cannot obscure his good purpose. “With an ordinary person she wouldn’t have gone so quickly” or “There are those who are waiting to be treated and die”, we read in the comments on the photo. To which the doctor who took charge of the presenter, Adriana Bonifacino, director of Clinical Senology at the Idi-Irccs in Rome, responds: «I have been working for 45 years and I can assure you that there is a lot of good healthcare. Antonella talks about it and speaks to people’s hearts. We are here and we treat everyone as quickly as possible.”

However, in addition to the usual controversies, there were hundreds of messages of affection and solidarity, many from well-known people.

First of all her husband Vittorio Garrone who, in addition to being at her side together with her daughter Maelle, writes on social media: «Always with you, at your side, within you, in the good moments and in the difficult ones, in the climbs, in the descents and again on the ascents. You are love.” Love and prevention.
