The parade of stars who will climb the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will be held tomorrow and all fashion and gossip lovers can’t wait to see which extravagant outfits the singers, actors and stylists have chosen. “I just got fired from the Met Gala.” Thus begins the TikTok video of Eugenio Casnighi who then continues: «Do you remember me? It’s all in good fun. Now that I’ve been fired I can say whatever I want. I worked for the Met Gala as a model and VIP greeter in 2022 and 2023 and I was supposed to attend the event again this year… Just to give you an example, today is Friday, the Met will be Monday (6 May, ed.) and they warned me that I shouldn’t just show up today. I got fired for a video that went viral last year: I appeared behind Kylie Jenner’s back. They called me and said ‘OK, you made it, now you’re fired’.”
Eugenio tightens the camera on his surprised face and continues: «Last year I was assigned as a chaperone Kylie Jenner and I would have to spend the whole evening with her. I had to help her move her dress and climb the ladder or at least be there if she needed me. It’s funny because at the Met they want models next to the stars, someone who gets noticed, that is, they hired me literally telling me “We’ll take you because you’re the right profile” and when they accidentally take a photo of you with the celebrity you’re accompanying because you’re next to her… . it’s your fault! They told me that “I made it” and therefore they no longer want to work with me because of it. I was confirmed a month ago: I have messages, emails etc… but, for now, I’ll stop here.”
