“I owe him total gratitude, not only for the possibility he gave me to achieve my dreams. Berlusconi was the most important person. He was the best friend, the father I would have wanted, the perfect lover, the boyfriend a little less so. He was also my teacher. I didn’t feel the 49-year age difference until the end of our relationship, which was always happily open. I was obviously looking at his cell phone, papers…”, she says, smiling.

We talk about the beginning of dating. One evening Pascale receives Berlusconi’s phone call and thinks it’s a joke. “I had to call him back but I had no money on my cell phone, I had nothing. I didn’t even have money on my mother’s cell phone… I called him with SOS top-up… I was 20 years old, my parents were worried and also curious” when the dating started. “I still would have done what I thought was right, they couldn’t have stopped me.”
We talk about ‘legends’: “It is not true that I received 20 million euros ‘one-off’ and then a million a month… all false.” And Putin’s ‘mythical’ Latvian? “It wasn’t a real Latvian, it was a painting depicting Putin’s master bedroom. There wasn’t a real bed. Is it a disappointment? Me too…”.
A regret? “I didn’t get to say goodbye to him. If I could see him again, I would give him a huge hug.”
