Tight but curious question and answer to Rebuson Rai 3, between the host Giorgio Zanchini and his guest Corrado Augias. The latter returns to state TV starting this evening, Monday 29 April, with the program The joy of music, also on Rai 3. “How are you?”, Augias asked the host. Who replied: “Do I defend myself?”, “Intense week”, “Yes, but everything passes, as they say”, “Now and always Resistance”, “Here, let’s start well”. The implicit reference is probably to controversy over anti-Semitism involving Zanchini this week.
The exchange of words, however, did not end there. In fact, when launching the cover of the episode, the host said jokingly: “Professor Augias shouted at me every time I sent a film but this time I imposed myself”. “It’s good to impose yourself, it should be imposed a little more“, the guest then replied. The two then continued to tease each other. “The cover, as even Augias knows, serves to introduce the themes we will deal with in this hour together – said Zanchini -. She was already biting the brakes when she saw the cover, so let’s imagine ourselves in the subsequent films. We will have to tolerate it.” And Augias , not holding back, replied: “Okay, you are the master of the house, do what you want. She does what she wants up to a certain point”.
At a later time, the guest returned to the accusations of anti-Semitism leveled at Zanchini: “I am a patriot, Zanchini don’t allow yourself to insinuate this otherwise I’ll also tell you that I’m Jewish, okay? I authorize it, or rather, to ask me.” A joke that the host simply laughed at. Finally, Augias wanted to encourage his colleague: “Thank you Zanchini, I recommend that he take care of himself, times are difficult“. Their exchange was full of digs apparently aimed at Rai and politics.
