From 17 June 2024, all people within the age groups for free cancer screening for the early diagnosis of breast, cervical and colorectal cancerreceive a notification via the IO app. This news was communicated by the Department of Health Policies.
The new digital channel is active for all phases of the three screening programs. Users receive an invitation with an appointment reminder and notification of the results of the screening tests performed via the IO app.
IO is the public services app, identified by the Digital Administration Code (CAD) as the only access point to interact simply and securely with Public Administrations, directly from your smartphone.
The Puglia Region thus adds a new digital communication tool to the methods already foreseen in the Prevention Communication Plan through the multi-channel Sm@rtScreening platform: telephone calls, SMS, e-mails and the traditional paper letter.
WhatsApp channels will also be activated shortly to interact in an increasingly digital and immediate way with organizations dealing with prevention and health promotion.
For breast and cervical cancer screening, the invitation notification includes the details of the scheduled appointment: date, time, location of the exam and booking code.
For colorectal screening, which does not require a predetermined appointment, the recipient collects the kit (sterile container) at a partner pharmacy and then returns the collected sample. The notification in this case reminds you of the instructions for participating.
In all screening notifications, additional information is also provided: the regional toll-free number 800 957773 to request information or changes to appointments, the Puglia Salute portal page dedicated to oncology screening for further information or interactions with the automatic system (chatbot), and the reference to the Information relating to the Processing of Personal Data.
