«Women forced to listen to the fetal heartbeat»

Women intending to resort to abortion are forced – in public hospitals – to listen to the fetal heartbeat or to suffer pressure and interference from people unknown to them, presumably volunteers from various associations belonging to the anti-abortion galaxy. It is the one who reports it Women’s Center against Violence of Aosta, which allegedly received “reports” in this sense. According to what the association reports, some women «who arrived at public health facilities in the regional territory to access voluntary termination of pregnancy», were allegedly «in the same places» subjected to «undue interference and pressure from volunteersconsisting of requiring the listening of the fetal heartbeat or the promise of financial support or consumer goods, with the specific intention of dissuading them from the very personal and often painful choice to have an abortion.”

He reports it the Women’s Center against Violence in Aosta remembering the choice made by the government regarding abortion. With an amendment to law 194 on the voluntary termination of pregnancy, there is the possibility for consultants, public facilities for the reception and protection of women’s health, to agree on the presence of pro-life associations, not only to support maternity paths difficult after birth but also in the very delicate maturation phase of the decision to interrupt, or not, the pregnancy. “We share the concerns expressed by many regarding this chosen choice”, explains the Center. The amendment was contested, among others, by M5S and Pd.
