Horror in Catanzaro: three men tortured a little dog in an inhumane way and then killed it. Now we are looking for those responsible for this chilling act
First he was brutally tortured, then he was killed. It is the atrocious fate that befell a little dog named Pati in the Signorello neighborhood of Catanzaro. To target him among men not yet identified who they beat him mercilessly, they docked his tail and even castrated him.
The episode took place on the night of last April 6, as told by a resident who, after hearing her dogs barking, discovered the tortured body of the poor dog, reporting the terrible violation to the authorities.

Pati, a beloved member of our community, was murdered in a ruthless, barbaric way, leaving an indelible mark of violence and contempt for innocent life. – commented Nunzio Belcaro, councilor for animal protection of Catanzaro – This behavior is not only unacceptable, but highlights the social danger of those who can commit such inhumane acts, since those capable of inflicting suffering on animals could represent a threat also for people.
To punish those who committed this vile act, the municipal administration invited all citizens to collaborate to identify those responsible as soon as possible.
LEAL (Antivivisectionist League), which filed the complaint, has already announced that it will become a civil party in any criminal proceedings to ensure that justice is done. Unfortunately, this is yet another case of unprecedented violence which confirms the urgency of tightening penalties for those who mistreat or kill animals.
