The “Pitagora” Commercial Center Technical and Economic Institute of Taranto was awarded a prestigious recognition with the 4th A class, winning the first place in the regional phase of the National Entrepreneurship Championship.
The regional award was achieved on May 6, 2024, as part of the Weave Innovation Camp 2024held in Melpignano (LE), a prominent event organized by JA Italia in collaboration with the Municipality of Melpignano and WeaveSrl.
The design path, known as “Business in Action”promoted by the renowned “JA Italia” association, to enhance and reward the best entrepreneurial ideas of students.
The success of the Pitagora students is the result of intense team work, coordinated by Prof. Santa Farina, with the support of the expert Dr. Giovanni Fanelli, which took place within an educational program proposed by Junior Achievement Italia , an affiliate of JA Worldwide.
The project presented by the students, called “Be Social, Be Safe”, caught the attention of the jury during the regional phase as an initiative with an innovative character and of great social interest. It is, in fact, a collective insurance policy designed to protect children from any risks associated with the use of social networks.
The project path began in 2023 with the first phase called “Idea in Action”, and then subsequently evolved into the creation of a real mini-business: the “BS2, JA company“. Through constant commitment, the students followed all the phases of setting up a company, from the drafting of the formal documents to the drafting of the business plan.
The support for the entrepreneurial initiative was broad and significant. In addition to the support of the school and local institutions, the “BS2 impresa JA” has received verbal and written appreciation from other schools in the area and has obtained the endorsement of the “BCC San Marzano di San Giuseppe” as well as the support of the ” Brindisi-Taranto Chamber of Commerce.
The success of the young “aspiring entrepreneurs” from Taranto was celebrated during the competition in Melpignano, where 45 teams from all over Puglia competed in front of a qualified jury. The project shone for its originality and concreteness, winning over the jury with a clear and well-structured idea, capable of responding to a real need of contemporary society.
The students of Pitagora will thus have the honor of representing Puglia in the national phase of the National Entrepreneurship Championship, scheduled for 23-24 May in Parma, determined to carry out the new challenge with greater determination and preparation.
