Two types of salami produced by Salumificio F.lli Scappocchin have been withdrawn from the market due to “microbiological risk”. There are two notices published on the Ministry of Health website, in the section dedicated to food product recalls by operators.
The batches affected by the recall
The reason for the recalls, as reported in the ministerial notices, is the same for both products, namely the presence of Listeria Monocytogenes, the bacterium responsible for listeriosis. There are two batches recalled, distributed in various Italian supermarkets. The first is the “Salame nostrano” 164/24, produced at the factory headquarters in Via Giorgio La Pira 14, Camposampiero, in the province of Padua. Salami is sold by weight, from 600 to 800 grams. The second is the “Salame Nostrano with Garlic”, with production batch 165/24. The location of the factory is the same, also in this case the cured meat is sold by weight, always from 600 to 800 grams. The Ministry of Health asks consumers who have purchased such products “not to consume them and to return the goods to the point of purchase”.
