Filippo Baroncini prepares his return to racing after the terrible accident at Tour of Poland 2025. It was August 6, 2025 when the runner of the UAE Team Emirates XRG he was involved in a terrible fall, in which he suffered facial, clavicular and cervical vertebrae fractures. The doctors therefore opted for a pharmacologically induced coma, from which he fortunately emerged after two weeks. After renewing his contract with his current team until the end of 2027, the 2000 born rider is back in the saddle for some training and is now preparing for the new season, with all the necessary caution after the difficult period he spent this summer.
On his Instagram profile, the 25-year-old published a post in which he reflected on his 2025: “A year that I will certainly remember for the rest of my life. Especially that August 6th. They were difficult moments, made up of continuous ups and downs. Moments that mark you, deeply, in your body and soul. Moments that hurt, but at the same time teach more than any victory. They teach you that the truly beautiful things in life are the essential ones: the love of family, of your girlfriend, of friends. They teach you that life, in itself, is beautiful and must be lived to the fullest, because at any moment it could no longer be there.”
“The biggest fear wasn’t the pain, nor the broken bones – continues the message shared by the runner – It was feeling, even just for an instant, that I could have left a void in my family. That was the hardest blow, the one that made me feel worse than everything. Because the pain passes, the wounds heal… but the idea of making those you love suffer breaks you inside. Today, however, there is a new rebirth. Life continues, with immense gratitude and with a strength that perhaps I didn’t even know I had. Unfortunately, in my career, I have had to use resilience many times. Maybe too many. But I don’t give up. Not even this time“.
Filippo Baroncini he closes his message by looking forward to next season: “I’m getting up in silence, with a smile. Because I’m continuing to do what I love. Because I still want to try to leave a mark myself, and not just be the one who has marks on my skin. Because I still have hunger, dreams, a way to go. It can’t rain forever.
