It took place today in San Colombano Certenoli (GE). V edition of the Valfontanabuona Grand Prix valid as a single event of the Italian Youth Cyclocross Cup. President Roberto Portunato’s Velo Val Fontanabuona has organized an event that has met with the success of the participating regional representatives.
Technical and made slimy by the frost that fell during the night, the Calvari route which saw around 150 athletes from the novice and student categories representing 11 Regions at the start.
The race took place in the morning Team Relay, the relay which saw the various regional representatives involved, this is the ranking: 1st Lombardia 1 (Ferro, Ferrari, Flaviani, Gualtieri, Maifrè), 2nd Emilia Romagna (Baccini, Manfredi, Masini, Lunghi, Vitaloni), 3rd Piedmont 1 (Bonavia, Alberto, Monbello, Vottero, Maglietti).
These are the results of the various categories in the races that took place in the afternoon: Male rookies: 1st Nicolò Ferrari (Lombardy 1), 2nd Mario Alberto (Piedmont 1), 3rd Thomas Vitaloni (Emilia Romagna); Female debutants: 1st Ilary Ceccarelli (Tuscany) 2nd Vittoria Bondi (Lombardy 2), 3rd Giorgia Vottero (Piedmont 1); 1st year male studentsi: Alex Nathan Longhi (Lombardy), 2nd Nicolò Maglietti (Piedmont 1), 3rd Luca Ferro (Lombardy 1); 1st year female students: Eleonora Flaviani (Lombardy 1), 2nd Anna Mombello (Piedmont 1), 3rd Leire Navarro-Ruiz Storani (Marche); 2nd year male students: 1st Jacopo Matteo Gualtieri (Lombardy 1), 2nd Mattia Bonavia (Piedmont 1), 3rd Leonardo Manfredi (Emilia Romagna); 2nd year students donne: 1st Matilde Anselmi (Valle D’Aosta), 2nd Beatrice Maifrè (Lombardy 1), 3rd Greta Masini (Emilia Romagna).
As regards the regional representatives, the ranking is as follows: 1st Lombardy 1, 2nd Piedmont 1, 3rd Lombardy 2, 4th Emilia Romagna, 5th Veneto 1. The award ceremony was attended by the Councilor for Sport of the Liguria Region Simona Ferro, the member of the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa Paolo Corsiglia and, representing the Municipality of San Colombano, the Mayor Carla Casella and the Councilor for Sport Franco Queirolo.
