Born in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic as a moment of positive information, the digital series, of the docufiction genre, is a non-profit project produced by Ad Communications, a communications studio in Bologna.

Ad Maiora tells the story of good practices and virtuous examples of third sector realities through the language of images and cinema.

“The people who agree to take this journey with us – explained the creator Deborah Annolino – do so with the utmost sincerity and the desire to tell their story. Ad Maiora aims to search for stories that offer a positive contribution to information by strengthening bonds between people. This project makes us discover the beauty of all being part of a large community”, concludes the creator of Ad Maiora.

THE AWARDS RECEIVED BY THE DIGITAL SERIES

The digital series has won important awards in the film sector: from first place at the ‘Tulipani di Seta Nera’ International Social Film Festival to the special mention at the ‘Digital Media Fest’ Best oriented Social Movie, highlighting the social essence of the project.

“We are satisfied with this new journey – said director Stefano Foglia – which leverages the social and human value of people. The fourth season represented an important enrichment for us at Ad Maiora and it is nice to get to know so many virtuous realities, to give them voice as well as visibility”.

Finally, the words of the screenwriter, Federico Feliziani: “The biggest exercise in this fourth season was precisely to balance the artistic part of the screenplay and the journalistic part firmly rooted in reality. These were the guidelines that guided me in writing: the search for an exciting language that could convey empathy with the real stories told.”

In the fourth season of Ad Maiora there is not only the story of disabilities but themes emerge such as the environment (the resilience of plants told through the images of the integral forest of Cento, in the province of Ferrara), art (the Theater of Camelot as a creative and inclusive place where each actor is welcomed for what they are and can give). All topics are also linked to some sustainable development objectives of the UN Agenda 2030 such as gender equality (told in the episode of the Room and Breakfast in Maranello, in the province of Modena which includes and integrates women victims of violence), health and well-being (an example is the story of the volunteers of the Bologna For Community project who accompany a group of disabled kids who are fans to the stadium all year round to watch football matches but not only).

Finally, there is space for the beauty of historical monuments that stand the test of time and which, thanks to the guides of the ‘It only happens in Bologna’ Association, are told and made known to future generations.
