In 2020, the Bergamo prosecutor’s office accused the then Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, the then Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, the leaders of the Lombardy region, the members of the Technical Committee of manslaughter and negligent spread of the Covid-19 epidemic in Val Seriana scientific and numerous general and medical directors of local hospitals. Four years later, nothing remains of that investigation that was talked about all over the world. Il Foglio tells it:

The court of ministers of Brescia, competent in the matter, dismissed the positions of Conte and Speranza, tearing the maxi Bergamo investigation to pieces, defining the accusation as “totally unfounded”. Subsequently, the court of ministers of Brescia dismissed the positions of Fontana, the former Welfare councilor Giulio Gallera and the members of the CTS, underlining how the hypothesis of the crime of culpable epidemic advanced by the Bergamo prosecutor’s office was not only not configurable on a legal level, but also “without even the slightest confirmation”. Furthermore, the panel tore Crisanti’s famous report to pieces, highlighting the lack of “causal links”. Last April, the Rome ministerial tribunal dismissed the positions of the former health ministers Speranza, Beatrice Lorenzin and Giulia Grillo in the matter, also originating in Bergamo, concerning the failure to update the pandemic plan.

And now, even the Bergamo prosecutor’s office has decided to put the matter aside:

LProsecutor Maria Cristina Rota asked for the part of the investigation that remained in Bergamo and which involved managers and doctors of the Alzano Lombardo hospital to be archived, some of whom were also accused of culpable epidemic, again for omissions
