It’s always nice to see you again Michael J. Fox live: the Back to the Future actor never gives up, compatibly with his health conditions, appearing on stage when he has the opportunity and once again the right push came from Coldplay, with whom our Marty McFly boasts a long-standing friendship.
Fox recently enjoyed a standing ovation from the BAFTA audience, but when Chris Martin and co announced their presence in the line-up of Glastonbury he couldn’t resist the call of music and his desire to perform in front of crowds on special occasions: during last night’s show, therefore, he gave those present a very welcome surprise.
Introduced by the notes of Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry, Fox then allowed himself the his third appearance on the Coldplay stage (the collaboration between the actor and the British band had already taken place in 2013 for a fundraiser for Parkinson’s and in 2016, during our band’s American tour), taking up the guitar on his wheelchair to play first Humankind and then the iconic Fix You. A moment in front of which it was impossible for everyone present not to get emotional: we, obviously, hope that the good Michael can give us moments like this again many, many times!
