Veronica Lario Sells London House and Makes a Million

Veronica Lario, second wife of Silvio Berlusconi and mother of Eleonora, Barbara and Luigi, managed to make a real estate coup in London by selling with a capital gain of just under one million euros (949,832 euros) a property in the Kensington district that she had purchased in 2006 for 3,177,173 euros. Thanks to her capital gain, her real estate company, Il Poggio srl, also returned to profit after a long time, which thus closed the 2023 financial statements with a profit of 84,294 euros.

Two buildings in Milan 2 are the bulk of the properties, rented to the University of San Raffaele

Veronica’s company (it is her actress name, but in the registry office it appears as Miriam Bartolini) having sold the London property, still has two buildings in its portfolio in Milano 2, the first neighborhood built by her late ex-husband, which are registered in budget for 26.4 million euros and generate an annual rental flow of 2.3 million euros. These are Palazzo Canova, purchased with a loan from the Banca Popolare di Sondrio for 20 million euros (11.1 million still have to be repaid) and Palazzo Barberini which is only burdened by 3 million euros from a 2020 loan taken out for the its restructuring with the Cooperative Credit Bank of Carate Brianza. The rents come almost entirely from the San Raffaele University of Milan which in 2020 rented 11 thousand square meters of Veronica’s two buildings.

All the other businesses, however, are at a loss both in Italy and in Switzerland: Silvio’s flair is missing

All the other companies controlled by Lario, who evidently doesn’t have the business acumen of her ex-husband or her children, are instead in the red. Ippocampo srl, created to manage some gyms, is losing 205,176 euros. The Swiss subsidiary Incomar AG, which in turn controls Equitago srl in Italy, which also deals with sports clubs without making a profit, is losing 463,600 Swiss francs. Veronica’s Milanese holding company, called Big Bang srl, is also losing 47,327 euros, and another real estate company, Cosmo srl, is also in the red (losing 201,650 euros), whose only property is a property in via Pontaggio in Milan purchased in 2018 with a 7.2 million euro Intesa San Paolo mortgage. All together, they therefore take away from Veronica about one million euros a year.
