Aurora Ramazzotti she drew up a real list of the 7 things she didn’t know before becoming a mother: «The first is very important: I won’t force anyone to hang out with me and my baby if he doesn’t feel like it: I spend 90% of my time with him so that might mean we never see each other again, but if there’s one thing I won’t do is waste my energy begging for your time. I say this without rancor and without anger: if you want, you can. If you don’t want to, there’s no problem.”
Then, «Two: I consider myself a very calm parent, I don’t get upset about everything and I’m also quite permissive, but my son don’t kiss him. You take offense? Your problem. Three: the most precious thing you can have is a mom friend or a dad friend. As I said before: it’s okay for some friendships not to be able to adapt to your new lifestyle as a parent, it’s okay for others to come to you, given your great change, but we know very well that everyone has their own life and It doesn’t mean they fit. Having a child can be an extremely alienating thing, I also felt very alone, especially at the beginning. Until I discovered the magic of having other mom friends. And if you haven’t managed to create a network yet, don’t worry, you have time.”
The list continues: «Four: every now and then my son will watch a bit of TV, every now and then he will eat something he shouldn’t eat, every now and then he will sleep in the big bed with me. You need to find peace in the knowledge that he cannot have everything under control and that if you break a rule every now and then, this does not make you a bad parent. Five: you don’t have to worry if your house is a disaster or even if you bail on me at the last moment: I understand you and I don’t judge you.”
He concludes: «Six: I can try to plan things, of course. But it almost never goes according to plan! And no matter what commitments I have set for myself, my son always has priority. Seven: being a parent is already difficult as it is, I certainly don’t need to complicate my life by worrying about someone’s opinion on social media or worse still by seeing someone tell me something on social media and maybe it’s not even the truth. Up here they are all perfect parents. You know what’s right for your child and your family, not some stranger on TikTok. You can always learn, but not if it makes you suffer.”
The controversy and the dig at Tommaso Zorzi?
The video published on TikTok has reached almost one million views and the comments are numerous. Many new mothers saw themselves in Aurora Ramazzotti’s words, while others reproached her for conveying the wrong message about friendship: “Does having a child mean you stop being a good friend?”. She promptly replied, “No. It means gradually finding a balance and having people around you who understand the difficulty. You don’t judge them and they don’t judge you.”
