The drama that struck Albano Carrisi some time ago: here’s what happened.
When we talk about great Italian voices that have marked the Italian musical panorama we cannot fail to mention: Albano. With her unique tone of voice she made entire dreams come true generations singing songs that are staples in the repertoire of Italian music.
Starting from Cellino San Marco, his career began when he moved to Milan at just 17 years old, where he carried out small jobs as a waiter. It is precisely in one of the restaurants where he works that he is noticed by Pino Massafra which invites him to participate The Master’s Voice.
In 1967, he got his first big hit with the song In the sun. From that moment on, a series of successes began both in Italy and abroad. Also contributing to his popularity is his professional and artistic connection with Romina Powertogether they sing songs that are still loved today, including: Happiness, Rogue Nostalgia, Dear Land of Mine, etc.
Regarding his most recent musical projects, in 2023 he returned to Sanremo Festival performing together with Massimo Ranieri and Gianni Morandi.
Albano, difficult times for the well-known singer
Albano, today 81 years old and beyond his many job satisfactions that have characterized his professional background, he has had to face many Health problems. Unfortunately, hard and difficult moments always appear when you least expect them.
Just as it happened to the singer during a concert rehearsal: two heart attacks at close range. Emergency hospitalization was inevitable. Let’s find out what happened in the next paragraph.
The three-hour operation for Albano: the details
It was the singer himself who recounted the terrible moments he experienced. During ainterview he actually explained what happened. The episode refers to a rehearsal for the Christmas concert which took place in 2016, during which Albano says that while he was on stage the two heart attacks occurred first at 6pm and then at 8pm. Then the rush to the hospital and the emergency operation.
“They operated on me during the night. Three hours of surgery, under semi-sedation. I heard everything they were saying and I bit my tongue: I felt like making jokes but then I thought it was better not to distract them”, reports the singer, downplaying the situation. Luckily Albano is now well, but this bad moment comes on top of the other dramatic health problems he found himself battling with, including prostate cancer and ischemia.
