Briatore is wrong about Twiga: he pays 165 thousand euros in taxes, not 3 million. The employees? 53 and not 150. On the other hand he saved Santanché from bankruptcy

Flavio Briatore, in the remote controversy with the leaders of Avs, Nicola Fratoianni and Angelo Bonelli, accused the two politicians of wanting to make Twiga go bankrupt without taking into account that the company that manages the baths of the same name in Forte dei Marmi «has 150 people, 150 families on the payroll.” Briatore got heated by adding that Fratoianni and Bonelli “have no idea that Twiga pays almost 3 million euros in taxes during the season”. Both statements, however, are incorrect, when looking at the Twiga 2023 budget recently filed with the register of the Chambers of Commerce.

The real numbers on employees and taxes paid

It is possible that between seasonal and occasional workers, Twiga srl pays 150 people, but it certainly does not support 150 families, because the average number of company employees mentioned in the notes to the financial statements is approximately a third of that indicated by Briatore: 52.88 rounded at 53. The three million taxes “during the season” are however totally distant from reality. Twiga had a turnover of 9.5 million euros in 2023, up by more than 15% compared to the previous year, and recorded a profit of 460,795 euros, a decrease of 27.6% compared to 2022. Taxes included in the budget are 165,139 euros for the entire year 2023, a sum which is 5.5% of the 3 million hypothesized by Briatore “during the season”.

The Forte dei Marmi bathroom is being followed by the tax authorities for “forgetfulness” of the past

Those 165 thousand euros of taxes are included in the budget and are half of those paid the previous year, but when looking at the details of the tax debts, Twiga is not so prompt with payments. Part of the taxes and contributions are usually paid in installments according to the concessions made on the basis of the law by the Revenue Agency. In the next 12 months Twiga must also pay an installment of 53 thousand euros for a notice of assessment on taxes not paid in 2013, another 48 thousand euros for a notice of assessment for 2014 and 36 thousand euros for a notice of assessment for 2015 A further 46,245 euros were then set aside for risks, mainly in response to a notice of assessment relating to registration tax, for 39,793 euros, where the company was unsuccessful in the first instance. The related sanctions and interest are therefore also set aside.” Some other taxes were instead saved thanks to government amnesties: «Contingent income 172,871 euros. The item refers in particular to the Company’s adherence to the so-called facilitated definition of the loads entrusted to the Collection Agent provided for by law”.

Those 325 thousand euros paid instead to Santanché’s partner for consultancy

Much more than the tax authorities, Twiga, whose president is Daniela Santanché’s life partner, Prince Dimitri Kunz with 13 noble surnames, pays consultancy on the organization of cocktails to a company, LDD, of which the prince himself is a shareholder. , Immobiliare Dani of Santanché and the latter’s son, Lorenzo Mazzaro. The explanatory note to Twiga’s 2023 financial statements does not expressly name names, but explains: «The company uses a consultancy firm whose general partner is the President of the Board of Directors. The services purchased relate to the coordination and supervision of the company’s activities. In the current financial year the value of the consultancy amounted to approximately €325,000″. The sum is equal to 3.5% of Twiga’s turnover, as established by the consultancy contract.

The fundamental role of Twiga in avoiding the bankruptcy of Visibilia

The money given to the Ldd is also a significant indirect aid to the Minister of Tourism Santanché, because it is then collected by her thanks to the company’s statute and made available for the settlement in court to avoid the bankruptcy of Visibilia and the criminal consequences that it entails. they would have derived from Santanché. Twiga not only provided that life jacket, but also the guarantees necessary for Immobiliare Dani faced with a debt to the banks. This detail is also reported in the explanatory notes to the 2023 financial statements: «It is specified that our company has granted a guarantee for the financial commitments undertaken by Immobiliare Dani srl towards a credit institution for the entire amount of the financial debt disbursed in favor of of the former partner which amounts to Euro 1,728,032 as of 31/12/2023 (nominal value equal to Euro 2 million)”.
