The last episode of was broadcast yesterday, Sunday 2 June «Sunday In» And Mara Venier greeted his audience, giving them an appointment in September. An emotional goodbye for the presenter, who thanked all the collaborators of the program and was celebrated with cake and candles on which the number dominated 500like the episodes aired so far.
Venier, in an interview published in the Messaggero, admitted that the just concluded season of «Domenica In» was not at all easy for her: it was «very difficult – she said -, the worst of all those done so far”. The biggest problem, she explained, was the Rai statement on the “Ghali case”, read after Sanremo, for which she was harshly attacked and accused of censorship: “I was disappointed, I suffered a lot», he said, also adding that if he went back, he wouldn’t read it again: «I read it practically live, I was unaware of its content».
In September, however, the presenter will firmly return to leading her show: «The CEO Roberto Sergio, who is a friend I love very much, he strongly asked me to stay, even though I still have to sign the contract. Those who had already lined up, and there are many, still have to wait.”
Mara explained that she just couldn’t stop: «He’s stronger than me, every year I say it’s the last but I can’t give up. This time I really thought it was the last because I want to enjoy my husband, my family and my home in Santo Domingo more.” But then Venier, a Tg1 Morning Summer, added that the next edition of «Domenica In» it will truly be his last: «I always say it, but this time it will be like this»
