The actress, in Cannes out of competition with Rumours, attracted the attention of those present by wearing a dress with i vibrant colors of the Palestinian flag, combined with the intense red of the carpet, which transformed Blanchett into a muse of support for the Palestinian cause. The garment in question was designed by the Jean Paul Gaultier fashion house, under the creative direction of stylist Haider Ackermann. This choice was not random. The design of the dress was conceived as a vehicle to convey a subtle yet powerful message, in a context that goes beyond simple fashion.
The message launched in Cannes takes up the appeal launched by Cate Blanchett during a speech in the European Parliament last November: “I am not from Israel, nor from Palestine.
