Pandoro case, the hearing at the TAR on Chiara Ferragni’s appeal is scheduled for July

The hearing on the merits of the Lazio Regional Administrative Court linked to the discussion of the administrative appeals proposed by Chiara Ferragni, with the lawyers Giorgio Fraccastoro and Fabio Cintioli, who asked to annul the provision through which, last December, the Antitrust imposed a fine of over one million euros on its companies “Fenice” and “Tbs Crew” for alleged misleading advertising linked to the sale of the “Pink Christmas” pandoro. Also on July 17th, the discussion of the further appeal brought by the Balocco company for the same matter, sanctioned with 420 thousand euros, will also take place.

The Codacons at the TAR

Codacons will also intervene at the Lazio Regional Administrative Court in the appeals presented by Chiara Ferragni and Balocco on the case of the fine imposed by the Antitrust. The association itself announced this in a note. According to what has been learned, the intervention will be aimed at contesting point by point the requests of Ferragni and the confectionery company and “dismantling the defensive theses which would like to shift all responsibility onto the consumers who purchased the product and who, as repeatedly repeated by Ferragni herself, they would have misunderstood the messages launched by the influencer and the company”. As confirmed by the president, Carlo Rienzi, “we will ask the administrative judges to confirm the Antitrust sanction and reject all the requests of Ferragni and Balocco, strengthened by the recent ruling of the Court of Turin which confirmed the offenses already sanctioned by the Authority for competition”.

The decline in revenues

Meanwhile, according to what has emerged recently and precisely because of this affair, Chiara Ferragni would need six million euros following the drop in revenues of the company Fenice srl, which owns her brand. And, to obtain new funding, the influencer could also decide to expand the shareholder base with new partners. The image damage linked to the Balocco case and other contested charity events are not yet quantifiable, but the economic damage could begin to be evident.
