The gravity of fake news was such as to force the family of the former castaway to intervene in person to clarify how things were. His son Alessandro intervened on his social networks and published a note on behalf of his father and his family:
“After what I saw on TikTok and the messages I received that scared me, I have no words left. I want to assure you that nothing happened to dad in Honduras. He was neither robbed nor beaten. He is in the hotel. Don’t worry, but the people just to make visualizations he doesn’t know what to invent”
