For now (at least) no Hollywood-style party for George Clooney who turned 63 away from home on May 6th. He is busy in Caorso, in the lower Piacenza area (4500 village souls) on the set of his latest Netflix film. With him there is not his wife Amal but one of his closest friends (and colleagues), Adam Sandler. The film’s extras are tight-lipped, but local rumors say that Clooney is decidedly affable with the Piacenza fans – of all ages – who have been waiting for him for hours, far away, at the gates of the armored set. He greeted, thanked and smiled. A source told People: “George was in an optimistic and smiling mood on his birthday. Everyone was laughing and joking at every opportunity. Even Adam was really happy, perhaps because George always makes everything fun on set,” adds the source.
“Some of the Italian crew have filmed with him in the past. Everyone loves him.” The film’s cast also includes Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Isla Fisher, Patrick Wilson and more. According to the local press it seems that George Clooney slept in the castle of San Pietro in Cerro during the three days of filming in the lower Piacenza area and that he booked his birthday party only with members of the set staff in a tavern near where they recorded some scenes of the film. All unconfirmed although the greengrocer, on a local TV, declared that she had delivered salad as lunch for the star.
