Piazza Affari, like other European stock exchanges, closed today’s session down. The Ftse Mib index fell by 0.49%, settling at 33,541 points.

Investors were cautious, avoiding significant positions ahead of the US PCE inflation data due on Friday and the French elections over the weekend.

The spread between BTPs and Bunds closed sharply higher, reaching 154.2 basis points, compared to 151 points in the previous session. As a result, the Italian 10-year yield increased from 3.92% to 3.99%.

Despite the general climate, some stocks recorded gains, with Saipem in the lead (+2.37%). Bper also saw an increase of 1.12%, continuing to attract interest for its potential role in banking risk.

More modest increases were recorded by Recordati and Erg, of 0.45% and 0.42% respectively. On the contrary, Tenaris (-2.22%), Mps (-2.18%) and Ferrari (-1.79%) dragged the index down. Interpump also showed weakness, closing down 1.44%.

Among Milan’s mid-cap stocks, D’Amico stood out with a +8.21%, followed by Fincantieri (+4.34%), MFE A (+2.05%) and Industrie De Nora (+2, 01%).

Juventus was also positive, gaining 0.91%.

The worst performances were recorded by De’ Longhi, who closed with a loss of 5.30%, while Danieli lost 2.88%. Sanlorenzo also suffered a sharp decline of 2.60%, and Tinexta showed a loss of 2.28%.

European stock markets experienced a difficult day, with Frankfurt limiting the damage with a drop of 0.12%. London and Paris recorded losses of 0.27% and 0.69% respectively, while Madrid recorded the biggest decline with 0.79%
