For an Italian brand that sells there is another ready to invest. It will be an unprecedented brand change that will concern the Campogrande area.
From tomorrow, in fact, the Bennet store in via Genova will close its doors to move to Rossetto. This is the effect of the sale of a business branch – an operation similar to that which in recent years has seen the transfer of some Despar stores, acquired by the Conad consortium – which will be formalized from 21 June.
But starting tomorrow the shutters of the store will be definitively lowered; they will be reopened in a few months, the time needed to rearrange the space of the new supermarket. Then the sign that will stand out will be that of Rossetto. Precisely in February 2023 the same operation was recorded:
Bennet, which previously carried the Auchan name, then adopted that of Rossetto. The negotiations started between companies and unions for the Campogrande supermarket instead lasted for about a month, thus delaying the date of June 1st initially identified for the closure, but it would not have been accompanied by any particular hitches.
The sale, in fact, will not lead to serious repercussions on the workforce: the approximately 60 employees will be transferred to other sales points and the use of social safety nets is not envisaged. Bennet, which is divesting some historic stores in Italy (such as the one in Legnano, closed last January after 59 years) has ensured that it will maintain a presence in the area: with the closure of Campogrande, the Como company’s supermarkets in the Brescia area are two , in Gavardo and Verolanuova. But the company wants to specify that «through a commercial policy in step with the times and targeted expansion programs, Bennet has managed to gain and maintain market leadership in the areas in which it operates».
On the other hand there is Rossetto Group, which will turn 60 next year and which is preparing to open the sixth store in the areafocusing on a historic commercial area of Brescia: the new store in via Genova, whose opening date has not yet been announced, will be added to the locations already present in Castenedolo, Concesio, Desenzano, Montichiari and Rezzato.
