Ferrari, an even more powerful hypercar to replace the LaFerrari

Ferrari. Just hearing the name, a shiver runs down the spine of all fans of the brand and, in general, of beautiful cars. Because Maranello’s designers and engineers not only manage to interpret the hidden dreams of potential customers, but also manage to transform them into reality. And this is what the founding father, Enzo Ferrari, asked for. Although the Drake is gone, the philosophy remains unchanged. Although the Purosangue is the top in sales, destined to become the best seller of the company in 2024, the spiritual identity of the Red is reflected today by disturbing LaFerrari. A hypercar that manages to combine, in a sublime way, attention to aesthetic details and propulsion on the road. Wealthy buyers welcomed it enthusiastically. But at Ferrari you never rest. The designers are currently working on the successor, internally called F250. Photos are appearing online, a sign that the testing maneuvers are continuing, in view of the launch on the market.

Two is better than one

Reserved for a very few, the high performance manifesto portrayed in recent days appears to have the same bodywork seen in February. However, a different reality emerges from an in-depth analysis. In the rear area, in fact, a connecting element between the two sides, suggesting a sort of wing; in previous sightings, a pronounced indentation appeared between the rear lights. The men of the style center were confident in keeping their cards well hidden, it’s a shame for them that the admirers have a “bionic eye” and in an amen they managed to grasp the detail. In the initial stages the Ferrari F250 appeared much cruder, with a gigantic rear wing. Then it had to be refined, which is normal: like a good sculptor, the work must be judged in the final version and then it doesn’t seem like the first project will be aborted.

On the contrary, according to the thesis of CarBuzz there will be two interpretations. Insiders predict that they will be offered as soon as possible 599 examples of the new hypercar, followed by another 199 Aperta or Spider. Furthermore, they will disembark 30 units reserved for the track, of the XX made and finished, without road approval. Unlike the SF90 twins, they can only be driven in competitions. Aerodynamic stability will improve, perhaps thanks to the exhaust system, the patent for which was filed in an unsuspecting time. This latest news must be taken with the necessary precautions, since nothing guarantees its effective use. Only a portion of the patents are applied, but if there is a car capable of accepting it, it is the F250.

The engine

As for the engine, Ferrari has no intention of using the legendary twelve-cylinder (V12). On the contrary, he would prefer to mount a less traditional V6 hybrid, probably because it does not intend to add turbos to the historic engine yet. It seems that we have to forget about the electric-only variant: the zero-emission powertrain will be used elsewhere. And, according to the words of Benedetto Vigna, he will land soon. The final name of the F250 is “suggested” by the intellectual property offices: La Rossa, Drake and F80. Logic dictates that the F80 will be a special edition destined to arrive later, on the occasion of Ferrari’s 80th anniversary, in 2027, while the presentation of the new hypercar seems to take place much earlier, already by the end of 2024.
