Telepass Base more expensive by 113% from 1 July 2024, can you save with the competition?
Descriptive text here

For over twenty years, Telepass subscription prices have remained practically unchanged. Since 1997, the first real increase in Telepass Family prices was recorded in 2022, but now from next July 1st another increase will be triggered.

Many customers have already received the email and instructions to close the contract without penalties, but what exactly will happen? From next July 1, 2024 the cost of the Telepass Base will go away from the current 1.83 euros to 3.90 euros per monthan increase of over 113%, as he also reports Altroconsumo.

Telepass Plus will also be increased to 3.90 euros per month, but only until December 2025; a way, evidently, to push the Plus level compared to the Basic one. Of course there would be a way to save, now that the monopoly on electronic tolls has lapsed: you could always enter into a new contract with UnipolMove or with MooneyGo (what to choose between Telepass and UnipolMove?), the two alternative services that currently allow you to pay for the motorway without stopping at the toll booth.

UnipolMove costs at the time of writing 1.50 euros per month with free activation and delivery for the first year, until May 7, 2024. With MooneyGo, however, you always pay 1.50 euros but with 5 euros for activation. What will you do, then: would you stay with Telepass (46.80 euros/year), which however also offers additional services compared to electronic tolls, or will you go for an alternative solution (18 euros/year)?
