Mazda presents two new electrified models in China – News and Previews
Descriptive text here

It is called EZ-6 and is the first model of a series of new electrified cars (the so-called Nev) which will be developed and produced in China by Changan Mazda which is the existing jv between the Japanese company and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co..

Scheduled to be launched in that vast market by the end of 2024, the Mazda EZ-6 will be offered in both 100% electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PhEV) versions. Both variants – we read in the note – combine the strengths of Mazda with the electrified technology of Changan Automobile.
Going forward, Mazda will continue to work with Changan Automobile to boost Chinese business by introducing specific products with shapes, features and equipment that meet the needs of Chinese customers.
“We are pleased to present the all-new Nev model developed in alliance with Mazda and Changan Automobile. The new EZ-6 – said Masahiro Moro, president and CEO of Mazda during the conference at Auto China – will debut by combining the strengths of Mazda with Changan Automobile’s electrified technology”.
4,921 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and 1,485 mm high, the Mazda EZ-6 combines in-line aesthetics with the Soul of Motion design and can be operated by voice even from outside the vehicle.
Other ‘smart’ features that improve safety and convenience include an autonomous driving system that provides driver support and accident mitigation technology.
Mazda did not provide information on the technical characteristics and performance of the EZ-6, other than the fact that the Bev model should offer an electric range of around 600 km, while the Phev version should reach over 1,000 km of range on a single full tank of fuel with the battery charge.
Also revealed at Auto China was the Mazda Arata concept, a crossover that prefigures the car that should be mass-produced as the second new electrified vehicle by the end of 2025, again with the primary focus on the Chinese market.
Arata, we read in the note, “embodies futuristic and modern forms that evoke the image of a new way of life with new energy cars, in harmony with the excitement of movement”.
The attention to aerodynamic characteristics (to help improve environmental performance) stand out, giving the Arata a futuristic feel, together with the shape of the crossed-wing rear light clusters, which emphasize the new Mazda brand.
