In the car sector many things happen, on the agenda, at all levels, starting from the strategic and investment sector up to the strictly productive one, up to the market.

The big brands, who are in command of the economic sector which, perhaps, more than others has suffered the blows of a pressing international crisis, are working in future projection.

For some time, the production segment linked to enginestherefore not only to cars as such, is experiencing a season of great changes that do not only concern the post-crisis relaunch.

Even more global and broad is, for example, the topic of environmental sustainabilityand the manufacturing sector, and this famous one ecological transition that you are experiencing.

With the advent of cars with zero emission enginei.e. electric, hybrid and more, enormous transformations have taken place, also accompanied by changes in regulatory route.

Stellantis, big changes

With a path marked out in this sense and synergistic and effective changes operational strategy, production and investment, the giants of the sector often make structural and prospective choices. One might have done so, for example Stellantis, regarding one of the most well-known Italian production plants, namely that of Mirafiori: What exactly is happening?

The car giant is reportedly considering Fiat leaving its factories Mirafiori for the placement within it of an expanding Chinese brand, known for its low cost products: We’re talking about Leapmotor, which could replace Fiat, and consequently Stellantis itself, in the known Turin plant. A historic, iconic structure.

Mirafiori, what future?

Chinese cars in Mirafiori? The Leapmotor group it could therefore take Fiat’s place in the structure that according to estimates it would be able to produce, under the Chinese brand 150 thousand cars every year. According to some rumors, the production of these Leapmotor car models could start within two years, therefore in 2026, as mentioned with a regime of this annual production capacity.

Currently, iconic cars such as the Fiat 500, but also the Maserati, Gran Cabrio and Levante, to name a few, are produced in the Miratori factory in Piedmont. Leapmotor is undoubtedly one of the brands that are emerging, in this last period, with great vigor, but certainly many have the opportunity to see Mirafioriwhich has always represented a symbol of Italian production, without any more Italian cars inside it leaves us wondering.
