With a path marked out in this sense and synergistic and effective changes operational strategy, production and investment, the giants of the sector often make structural and prospective choices. One might have done so, for example Stellantis, regarding one of the most well-known Italian production plants, namely that of Mirafiori: What exactly is happening?
The car giant is reportedly considering Fiat leaving its factories Mirafiori for the placement within it of an expanding Chinese brand, known for its low cost products: We’re talking about Leapmotor, which could replace Fiat, and consequently Stellantis itself, in the known Turin plant. A historic, iconic structure.
Mirafiori, what future?
Chinese cars in Mirafiori? The Leapmotor group it could therefore take Fiat’s place in the structure that according to estimates it would be able to produce, under the Chinese brand 150 thousand cars every year. According to some rumors, the production of these Leapmotor car models could start within two years, therefore in 2026, as mentioned with a regime of this annual production capacity.
Currently, iconic cars such as the Fiat 500, but also the Maserati, Gran Cabrio and Levante, to name a few, are produced in the Miratori factory in Piedmont.
